The Union community knows how to celebrate the pumpkin! Their “PumpkinFest” is a month-long fall harvest celebration that culminates on Halloween weekend with, what else—a pumpkin catapult competition. This year, it will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 (12:00 PM). The coming together of families, community and the bounty of the harvest all begins at Hunter Farms in Union.
Throughout the month of October, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., visit the Hunter Farms pumpkin patch, treat yourself to an old-fashioned hayride, and enjoy plenty of games for the kids. The spirit of fall is celebrated throughout Union. Robin Hood Village and Alderbrook Resort’s restaurant menus feature the best the season has to offer and local merchants feature their seasonal fare and unique gifts.
And, on October 26, back to Hunter Farms for the North Mason Chamber Catapult Competition, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
High School teams work for months on wood-crafted pumpkin catapults and trebuchets for the annual competition of builder skill, accuracy, and showmanship.
The catapult contest starts at noon at Hunter Farms out in the pumpkin patch, rain or shine. Watch ‘em hurl!
