WHERE: Local Businesses and Landmarks From 9 AM to 4PM and then, 4:30 - 7:30 PM head to Callanan Park (400 W. E St). 7:30 for the Kids Event. Pick Up Prizes & More!!

How It Works: Saturday Morning between 9AM-11AM stop at our Swag Bag Location Occu 2948 Olympic Hwy Shelton & pickup your scavenger swag bag. Bags contain your Sunshine Grand Prize Clues, a Map, and a list of the items you're hunting for!! Hunt rules and directions will also be included! Now the fun starts!! Follow your map around Shelton Community and go find the items on your list, take a picture of what you found and post it in the comments of the corelating business's picture on our event page! ***Examples: (For clarification only, hypothetical) If you find a sunshine at OCCU take a picture of it! Then go on the Facebook Event page, find the picture of OCCU and post your picture of the Sunshine in the comments! Voila' - You are entered for the OCCU drawing! If you find a Popsicle sticker in the window at Ts Cafe, go find the picture of the Ts Cafe on our event and post your picture in the comments! Now you're entered in the HUB drawing! Each Business's picture will have its own drawing for those that comment. That is 20 chances to win!! Now don't be fooled as items on your list can come in many different forms! It could be an actual physical item, or a sticker in their window, maybe even a drawing on their sidewalk!
Last but certainly not least, you surely can't have Scavenger Hunt without Grand Prizes! ~ The Sunshine Clues locations will be located throughout your hunt! Be sure to take a picture with your Sunshine at the Sunshine Locations and follow directions on Sunshine Clues paper!
Just for supporting our event by purchasing a ticket, you will automatically be entered to win our Great outdoors Prize package! Winner will be notified via Facebook Messenger or Text!
Our Goal this year for is to provide 3000 packs for the 16 school districts. We use the OSPI website to see how many youths are homeless, low-income and in foster care. We determine how many backpacks are delivered to each school district by using OPSI website. Here is an example: OSPI reports that Shelton School District has 61% of students who are low -income and 7.8 % are Homeless, Hoquiam School District 74.1% of students low-income and 6.8% Homeless. To reach this goal we need to raise approximately $9,000 to purchase 3000 backpacks. We can purchase backpacks for $2.86 each if we make a bulk order. Backpacks will be ordered August 10th.
